Here we are again!
It’s been a little while between the original release of this story and its Author’s Notes. This time around, the topics I cover include the original timeframe of writing, and why I chose that particular month for upload, reminiscing about those memories and my childhood as a whole, as well as the pivotal turning point I reached in my recovery journey.
I touch more on cancer being rampant in my family, and how having strong role models—particularly when they’re loved ones—is quite essential in shaping the mindset that kids develop. I use my journey anecdotally, and discuss the impact that this mindset had on my adult life.
There’s also some discussion surrounding the ‘lack’ of understanding in both kids and adults in how to deal with, perceive, or support family members (or even friends) who sadly experience this sort of diagnosis.
