It’s been a busy period, these last few months! My full time work has been pretty gruelling and in my personal life, lots happening too; yet in amongst all of that, I’ve been burning the midnight oil many nights running, getting things optimised and ready for the end of the year.
I’ve been writing now on Substack since February (this year), and on Medium since May 2023, and have since decided to focus on one platform—Substack—where I can continue to build my stories, podcast narrations, and meaningful interactions with fellow creatives. So once my membership expires, I’ll be closing my Medium account.
For those of you who are new here, welcome to Remaining Mark, I hope you continue to find my content engaging—although if not, you can always find the unsubscribe button at the bottom all the same, no hard feelings! :)
I want to take a moment to say Thank You, to everyone who has, thus far, engaged with my work, be it through reads, listens, likes, or comments, it’s truly put a smile on my face and encouraged me to continue on this journey!
Much to my surprise, I’ve published 30 pieces in these 9 months, more than I thought when I set out on this little adventure, and with that in mind, am going to move in a ‘new-ish’ direction away from my cancer survival experiences.
I started with these because it has been a monumental part of my life these last few years, and in writing deeply about it, has allowed me to better process my emotions and overall experiences. I do have one in the chamber left though, that I do intend to publish—it’s scary and I want to emphasise that—but I’ll do it through narration!
In general though, I have finally reached a stage where I want to move on and write about other aspects of (my) life that are related to both mental and physical recovery, as well as other areas of psychology, philosophy, music, and non-fiction—what it means to ‘Remain Mark’. I may throw a short fictional piece in here and there, but it’s far from my forte.
Additionally, over the past month or so I’ve been rapidly expanding into freelancing, building my own website at remainingmark.com and taking on a few projects. You’ll also notice that the colours on my Substack have changed, complimenting the style over on my website!
I look forward to growing my creativity further in all aspects of Remaining Mark, and hope you continue to enjoy my work produced, and stick around for the ride.
While it’s still November relevant—if you missed my latest:
Otherwise, I’ll catch you in the next one!
~M.
I look forward to reading your stories in this new phase of recovery and wellbeing. xx
Love love love, proud of you my friend <3
